Book Eco Hotels independently verifies sustainability data for the hospitality sector. Every claim on our platform is validated through our multi-route verification framework – not self-reported, not assumed.
BEH Verified multi-route verification framework:
Tier 1 (Certified Status): Verification of third-party credentials (e.g. EarthCheck, LEED, Green Key) via direct synchronisation with official public registries. Quarterly checks ensure active credential continuity and prevent lapsed status.
Tier 2 (Documented Status): Data validated via two complementary pathways. Route A (Contextual Layer) uses independent sources – NGO reports, satellite telemetry, regional indices – to confirm infrastructure and practices are independently observable. Route B (Evidence Layer) verifies primary evidence submitted by the property – utility bills, payroll records, procurement receipts, operational logs. A single verified claim via either route constitutes a valid BEH Verified output, mapped against the GSTC 4-Pillar framework as an organisational structure.

Get Verified: Your Sustainability Receipt
The EU’s Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT) now applies, which means environmental claims made to consumers must be specific and backed by evidence. Independent verification gives you that evidence, helps reduce the risk of greenwashing complaints, and gives travellers a reason to trust what you say.
Pricing: £199 verifies up to three claims. For anything beyond that, we’ll send you a tailored quote.
Tier 1: For Certified Hotels 
If you already hold certifications (like EarthCheck, LEED, or Green Key or other non GSTC accredited certification), we act as a digital safety net.
What we do: Every three months, we check the certifying body’s official records to confirm your certificate is still active.
The Benefit: This keeps your “Active” status live and correct on booking sites, so it never expires by mistake.
Tier 2: For Hotels with Their Own Data 
No certification yet? You can still prove your impact.
What we do: Once a year, our team reviews your actual records – like utility bills and waste logs.
The Benefit: We turn those records into a Verified Impact Statement, clear evidence you can show regulators, booking platforms and travellers.

Tier 1 listings are compiled from publicly available certification registry data. Inclusion in our directory does not imply partnership, endorsement or affiliation with any listed property or certification body. Any property may request removal at any time by emailing behv@bookecohotels.com, and we will remove the listing within three working days, no questions asked.
